Our Message

Our Message

Receive Christ Now!

We Receive Christ by personal invitation.

(Christ Speaking) “Behold I stand at the door and Knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the Door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3: 20)

Receiving Christ means renouncing evil (repentance) giving yourself (essence) to God and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and help us achieve our true potential.

Just to ‘Agree’ that there is a God and that Jesus, His son died for us on the cross for our sins is not enough.

We must willingly receive Jesus Christ by faith

What happens to us can be explained by looking at the Lamp:

Truly each one of us is given from conception a fundamental nature that makes us who and what we are. This essence, which comes from God, is that part of us that is unique, it defines us, separates us from everyone else. It makes us special most people refer to it as ‘SELF’.

Normally we are told to ‘kill’ it, ‘suppress’ it most Christians believe that it should be ‘ignored’, ‘subdued’ or just ‘thrown away’. They believe that God wants you to rid yourself of that essence that He placed within you to make you special. But this is far from the truth. If we observe the Lamp we would notice that:

The Lamp itself is just the vessel, within the vessel is its essence it fuel, its oil. The true purpose of the Lamp is to give Light. But it cannot fulfill it purpose unless there is a wick, the connection between the oil and the flame.

The oil truly is our ‘self’ our ‘essence’ and the flame is the Glory of God our creator and the wick is Jesus Christ Bridging the Gap using our very essence to light God’s flame. Not suppressing but directing and helping our greatness to the flame of God so that the fire could be fed by our works by our praise by our desire and so the light of God would shine and show forth his Glory.

You can receive Christ Right now by faith through Prayer (Prayer is talking with God)

God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested Prayer:

Lord Jesus I need you. I want to realize my true potential. I want to have that Abundant Life. I want to experience the fullness of your Joy and be all that I was created to be. Thank you for dying on the cross to take away my sins. I open the Door of my life and receive you, as my Lord and Savior. I give myself over to your loving care, come into my life and guide me into your peace and satisfaction. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.”

If these words express the Desire of your heart pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life as he promised.

Our creator through his word promises eternal life with Him to all who Receive Christ

“And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He who has the son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written unto you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life”

(1 John 5: 11 – 13)

How do you know that Christ is in your life?

Trust and see. He promised that once you open the door he would come in. To trust is to walk by faith. It is not dependent on feelings but on fact.  The fact is God and His word are true and everlasting.

The moment you received Christ willingly by faith, regardless of what you felt, many things happened

Christ came into your life (Revelation 3:20, Colossians 1:14)

Your sins were forgiven (Colossians 1:14)

You got the rights of a Child of God (John 1:12)

You received Eternal Life (John 5: 24)

You began that Great adventure for which God created you (John 10: 10, II Corinthians 5: 17 and I Thessalonians 5:18).

Most of all you became a member of a family of believers, now living a life rooted in Hope, Faith and Love.

Here at Bethany A.M.E. Church, God has created a nurturing and encouraging environment for the child of God who wants to live the gospel, tap into God’s power, and experience God’s favor, and there is room in our family for you.
